I remember Ira and his wife visiting my family, Stanley & Shirley Tomlin & Andy & Iva Lea in Kansas City MO. They played and sang late into the nite and then left the next day, only to be killed in the car wreck that day. My father, Andy Lea was raised in Henager AL, and I supposed that is how they all knew each other. Me and my husband were in Nashville a few weeks back and to my surprise, Charlie Louvin appeared on stage @ the Ryman. I was so excited that I was seeing him perform and called my parents to let them know. I wanted to talk with him, but by the time the show ended, he had left. What a great honor it was to see and hear him.

Charlie, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you battle cancer. I have been a long time fan of you and your brother. I had the pleasure of meeting you when you had the Museum at Bellbuckle several years ago. You were most gracious and I truly enjoyed our conversation. May God bless you!
